How much a website costs in Dalmatia and Croatia in 2026: what goes into the price, where hidden costs appear and how to tell whether it pays off
The honest answer to "how much does a website cost" is: it depends, but not on what most people think. The difference between a site for a few hundred and one for a few thousand euros is rarely the design. It is whether the site brings enquiries, who owns it and what it costs you a year later. Here are the items, examples and the maths, for businesses operating in Croatia.

In short
The market range is wide: from ready-made templates for a few hundred euros to custom sites for a few thousand.
With us, a site for a local service business in one language, up to seven pages, starts from €1,290 + VAT, and a bilingual one from €1,690 + VAT.
On top of the build, budget for the domain and hosting every year, content and photos, and maintenance.
The most expensive website is one that brings no enquiries and gets rebuilt from scratch two years later.
In a proposal, check who owns the domain and the code, what exactly is included and what maintenance costs afterwards.
What goes into the price
A website is not one cost but several. Some you pay once, some every year, and some only if you don't sort them out at the start.
Item
What it is
How it is paid
Build
Structure, design, development, mobile layout, basic SEO, call and enquiry tracking
One-off
Domain
The site's address, for example yourbusiness.hr
Yearly, usually a few dozen euros
Hosting
The server the site runs on
Monthly or yearly, depending on speed and traffic
Content
Copy, translations, photos of real work
One-off, unless you prepare it yourself
Maintenance
Updates, security, backups, small changes
Monthly or hourly
Growth
SEO, Google profile, ads, analytics
Monthly, if you want a steady flow of enquiries
Three levels of website and indicative prices
In practice almost every enquiry comes down to one of three levels. The prices in the table are ours, excluding VAT, and published in our price list.
Level
For whom
With us
An enquiry site in one language, up to seven pages
Trades, salons, repair services, clinics
from €1,290
A bilingual site
Tourism, boating, clients from abroad
from €1,690
A site with booking, or an online shop
Accommodation, restaurants, online sales
By proposal, after an audit
A site with a Google profile and social media, as a package
Those who want to be found without doing their own marketing
If you are not registered for VAT, for example as a private holiday rental host, you pay the amount including 25% VAT. A site at €1,290 + VAT then costs you €1,612.50. For such clients we show VAT-inclusive prices up front, on the page for holiday rental hosts.
Hidden costs proposals often leave out
Domain and hosting in the agency's name. If you leave, the site stays with them, and switching means a rebuild.
A site you can't edit yourself. Every change of price or opening hours becomes an invoice.
No tracking. You don't know how many calls and enquiries the site brings, so you don't know whether it pays off.
Slow hosting. A site that takes five seconds to load on a phone loses visitors before you ever see them.
Legal requirements. Cookie and privacy notices, and from 17 November 2026, for anyone selling to consumers in Croatia, the anchor price and digital price list.
Translations. Machine translation puts foreign visitors off, and someone has to pay for a good one.
Maintenance nobody does. An outdated site becomes a security risk and one day stops working.
The maths: how much the site has to bring in
The price of a website says nothing on its own. What matters is what one new customer is worth to you and how many the site brings. The formula is simple:
customer value over a year × new customers from the web per month × 12 − yearly cost of the site
Example: a hair salon
An average service of €25, a regular client comes eight times a year: €200 a year per client. If the site and Google bring two new regular clients a month, that is €4,800 a year, against a build from €1,290 plus yearly hosting and domain costs.
Example: an air-conditioning service
An average job of €180. Ten more calls in season, six of which become jobs, bring €1,080 a month. The site pays for itself in the first month of the season, provided calls are tracked and you know where they come from.
The examples are made up to illustrate the maths. We calculate your own numbers in a free audit.
What to check in a proposal
The domain, hosting and code are in your name from day one.
It states exactly how many pages, which languages and who writes the copy.
Tracking of calls, messages and forms is included.
Mobile speed is stated, for example a score in Google's PageSpeed test.
It gives a delivery time and the number of instalments.
It is clear what maintenance costs after handover and how to cancel.
Legal requirements are covered: cookies, privacy and, if you sell to consumers, the anchor price.
How we charge
We charge the build at a fixed price from a written proposal, never by the hour. You can pay the set-up in two or three instalments, and the Foundation package with nothing upfront. The domain, site and profiles are in your name from day one, and the monthly part can be cancelled with a month's notice. All prices are on the Services page and in our CSV and XML price list.
Because of what is included. A template without copy, tracking or SEO is cheap to build but expensive for the owner, because it brings no enquiries. Compare proposals item by item, not by the total.
Can I pay for the build in instalments?
Yes. You pay the set-up in two or three instalments, and the Foundation package can start with nothing upfront, over 12 months. See the options.
How long does it take?
We set up the site in the Foundation and Growth packages in four to six weeks. The most common delay is content, so it helps to prepare it early.
Do I need a bilingual website?
If some of your customers come from abroad, yes. A guest from Germany searches in German and books where they understand the terms. For a local trade working with domestic customers, one language is enough.
